In 2001 Sugarbash volunteers began a remarkable journey
as they committed to find a cure for diabetes through the support
of research. To date this unique group
of volunteers has raised in excess of $250,000

Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
JDRF’s mission is simple – to find a cure
for diabetes through the support of research. In a typical year,
more than 80% of all expenses support research and education.
For such effectiveness, the American
Institute of Philanthropy has given JDRF an “A”
rating, the highest ranking of any national diabetes
organization. In its annual rating of 200 nonprofit organiza-tions,
Forbes magazine chose JDRF one of its
top 10 “picks that shine.” The rating
was one of a number JDRF has received over the past few years,
all underscoring the organization’s
industry-leading efficiency and effectiveness in funding research
leading to a cure for diabetes.

We are witnessing an unprecedented merger of two leading
community forces. Both Sugarbash and JDRF share a single-minded
focus – to find a cure for diabetes through the support
of research. That’s why this year’s Sugarbash gala
will benefit the Central Florida Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation.
